Perhaps its time for us to just start up a google map and just add push-pins to indicate all the cities that are signing up with Nissan to test electric cars (see a partial list here). At the current rate, a map like this should be filled up pretty soon. The latest city to join the list is Raleigh North Carolina. Nissan will work with local utility Progress Energy and non-profit Advanced Energy to start building out a public charging network. Just as it is doing in other areas, Nissan and the utility will study where the charging network should go, start the planning and eventually deploy it. Progress Energy has already been testing a number of plug-in hybrid vehicles, including converted Priuses, since 2008.
